Alcoholism and panic disorder created a huge void in my life. In recovery, filling that void with activities I enjoyed restored my confidence, my connection to people, and my sense of purpose. Photography and writing helped me rebuild a life that felt meaningful again. Over time, I became someone others liked, respected, and trusted. And in recovery you learn quickly: when you’ve lost someone’s trust, you’ve lost everything.
